This is my most recent illustration. I wanted to practice mixed media and realism (to an extent). I also experimented with my use of colour to convey a whimsical aesthetic. After using oil pastels when drawing from life, I wanted to experiment more with scratching back into the product to create depth and texture. I then used coloured pencils for variety and contrast between the subject and the background. I also wanted to push myself by drawing a subject matter I never have before, animals. I am very proud of this piece.
